Two island chains in the otherworldly Norwegian fjords. They’re fit for Thor himself.

The northern fringes of Europe. Viking territory. Here’s a fittingly dramatic setting in which to celebrate your life’s biggest moments. We love this pairing – Lofoten and Senja – because everybody who travels here comes home changed by it. To wake at Manshausen, the glass wall of your cabin suspended above the ice-misted waters of Vestfjorden. The soft, silken dip as your paddle enters the ocean – or the crackling lick of the fireside as you raise a glass of wine to the skies above. Sublime.

Lofoten

Manshausen

This private island – owned and built by a former Arctic explorer – is a world unto itself. It’s also the perfect gateway from which to explore the Lofoten Islands themselves. Each of its seven glass cabins offer heart-rending views of towering fjords and sparkling seas. You’ll have the sleep of your life – if you can drag yourself away from the stars.

Lofoten

There is exquisite local food in its kitchen – much of its ingredients fished from the seas themselves. We’ll also be able to arrange any number of expeditions and excursions – hiking, fishing, kayaking, climbing, and even swimming.

A full-throated expedition that offers something between the mythic beauty of The Lord of the Rings and the culinary chutzpah of Anthony Bourdain. Trust us on this one.

Put another way, wild drama and cultural sophistication are to be found literally cheek-by-jowl in this absurdly arresting nation; making it the perfect place in which to wind both up and down. And we’ve not even mentioned the wine.

Between these two unreal locations, you’ll find some of the most consistently exciting wildlife in the known world. We cannot wait to induct you into our secret ‘salt and water’ club.
