Brendan Drewniany

Director of PR & Communications

While I may not have followed the winding road to academia – like my parents – I found myself a lover of words and communication and fused this with the world of food, wine and travel. Much earlier, an extended stay in London and the Cotswolds would lead me to become the youngest member of the Thomas Hardy Society. Put another way, my road might have been different from theirs, but we shared much the same view.

In my role at Black Tomato, I lead the US Communications strategy, working with journalists and editors to share stories of Black Tomato around the world, with the world. It’s extremely humbling to work with so many talented people, both within and outside of Black Tomato. In house, being able to collaborate with a team as well-traveled, well-versed and creative as ours is a true privilege. Each day offers a new challenge, inspiration, and stokes my inner adventurer.

Travel is always an integral part of the stories I tell with the media, and it has taken me to places such as Portugal, Spain, Iceland, Mexico, Panama. I could go on – and on. My work is a vocation – and vacation – that never gets old.
