My favorite travel memory? My first taste of b’ssarain along the medinas of Marrakech. The alien-like landscapes of Snæfellsnes, Iceland. Wandering through Kronborg Castle – home to Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the mythical Holger Danske. I can’t quite pick one ‘moment’. But I remember where it all began. A trip with my friends to Spain. Getting lost, creating memories – it’s all mind-expanding stuff my world can’t exist without. And it takes me away from my sudoku and movie nights.

As a Finance Assistant at Black Tomato – a role I’ve been in since 2018 – it’s my job, behind the scenes, to make sure the hands of our metaphorical clock keep ticking along. But there are always new ways to improve, no matter how confident I am. It’s a humbling experience – a mountain I love climbing every day. Coupled with working alongside our ever-inspiring partners – and the team, of course – makes for the perfect cocktail. Especially when I hear how these trips live long in our traveler’s memories.

A closer look at Iceland

Just beside the small fishing village of Vík í Mýrdal lies Iceland’s famous black-sand beach (or Reynisfjara). A far cry from a sunbathing spot, it’s home to one memory that will linger with me forever. Flung from side to side with the icy wind in my face, the feeling of gliding across those volcanic sands in a dune buggy is up there with my very best. All that’s left now are photographs and memories. And the sand in my boots.
