Hannah Davis

Relationship Manager

My passion for travel was firmly ignited during a six-month stint living and studying in Brisbane, Australia back in 2015. After exploring the country at every given opportunity, and venturing further afield to New Zealand and Indonesia, there was no way I was going to crunch numbers for a living.

Since that point, I’ve not stopped on my quest to explore the World. There have been so many highs (sometimes metaphorical, sometimes not), like hiking up Mount Batur in Bali for sunrise, kayaking in the Lofoten Islands, being invited for lunch by a local Indian family in Udaipur and taking the iconic train trip from Ella to Kandy in Sri Lanka. These are just a few of my highlights.

As a Relationship Manager at Black Tomato, I’m the lucky one who gets share inspiration for many of our client’s adventures, and then hear all the stories after their trips; making sure we’re continually top of our game. Sparking their curiosity – and my own – is all part of the fun. It’s safe to say, it’s not only our traveller’s bucket lists that are ever-expanding.

'A wealth of secrets waited to be discovered'

A closer look at Egypt

Exploring Egypt was the first big trip I took after the pandemic. Just to be clear, I am by no means a ‘history buff’ and yet as soon as I stepped off the plane in Cairo, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the palaces and tiered steps of sand-dusted tombs and pyramids. A wealth of secrets waited to be discovered – Saqqara, the Egyptian Museum, the Valley of the Kings (and Queens), the small island of Elephantine. I could go on. And on.

But this wasn’t the only thing I treasured about my trip. The people I met and my incredible guides – always full of warmth and welcoming energy – were so engaging and knowledgeable that not one of my questions went unanswered. And I had many, many questions. Perhaps my lack of knowledge in the area of ancient Egypt worked in my favour; it meant my curiosity was constantly being fuelled by everything I saw. And as for the food, well. One word, mahshy.
