Kazazian Cruises, Egypt
The Nile’s cultural and historic significance – beyond Egypt – is vast. Pharaohs themselves had beautiful ships to sail down it for pleasure. We’re talking 3,000 years ago. Away from the rush of the crowds, you’ll glide along the calm waters of The Nile onboard one of Kazazian’s two luxurious boats – Berge and Arax. Surrounded by sand dunes and palm trees, you’ll watch in style (and comfort) as you travel within Egypt’s historic landscapes . Close to the water, in perfect harmony with the river that flows full of myth and legend. It’s relaxing – and a fresh perspective from which to enjoy the temples that line the ancient banks of the world’s longest river. This journey down The Nile is the soothing balm to Egypt’s bustling cities.
Location
Setting sail from Luxor, it’s a leisurely five nights on board either Berge or Arax as you trace the steps of ancient pharaohs to the honey-coloured city of Aswan . Each day unveils a new treasure. Whether it be the steep sandstone cliffs of Gabal El Selsela, Edfu (the city of the falcon god Horis), or the island-based complex of the Philae Temples. Alternatively, you can also follow this route from Aswan to Luxor if this would fit better logistically with the rest of your trip. We’re on hand to advise what’s best.
Your room
Each of the two river boats in the Kazazian fleet is, quite literally, a dreamboat. With a light soothing colour palette, each spacious cabin features original works of art. Naturally, all on-board fabrics are the finest Egyptian cotton. Between full-width windows and marble bathrooms, each space is decorated with beautiful local flowers. If we had our pick, we’d opt for the Owner’s Suite on Arax which offers a panoramic view of The Nile and a private outdoor terrace directly over the water. It’s fit for a pharaoh. The perfect place for watching the sunset – or for relaxing beneath the stars.
Why we like it
Between an on-board spa experience and dining on afternoon tea under the Egyptian sky, you’ll soak up the sun (and the views) from the main deck’s outdoor plunge pool. Off-board, much can be arranged. Think private-island picnics, star-lit dining, or simply a dip in the Nile in the most opulent spot – we can arrange it all. This is ultimate relaxation along the artery of an ancient kingdom. Just go with the flow.
