The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto

Set in the cultural heart of Japan, the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto represents the perfect blend of ancient heritage and modern luxury. A stone’s throw from many of Kyoto’s most iconic highlights; this hotel serves as the perfect base to which you can retreat after a long day of cultural immersion.

LOCATION

The Ritz-Carlton rests on the banks of the Kamogawa River, close to downtown Kyoto and its entertainment districts. If you’re coming from Tokyo, hop on the bullet train and we’ll arrange a chauffeur to pick you up at the other end to drop you to your elegant lodgings. Once you’re settled in, head out on foot to explore your nearby surroundings, which include the beautiful Gion and Kawaramachi districts.

YOUR ROOM

The resort offers a range of rooms and suites that often overlook the Kamogawa River and the Higashiyama mountains beyond, but it was the garden suites that stole our hearts. Providing guests with a private oasis in the form of their very own Japanese Zen Garden, as well as truly beautiful interior furnishings and large, marble bathrooms; the suites at the Ritz-Carlton are a prime example of how attention to even the smallest details can go a long way. Kyoto Shabon-ya handmade soaps and bath salts, traditional bathrobes and slippers, a private Japanese garden of complete serenity – all of these things add up to only one thing: complete luxury.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Kyoto is a serene and magical place, and this serenity, this magic is only drawn on and enhanced at the Ritz-Carlton. Whether it’s the resort’s central location, the beauty of the suites or the temptation of the spa that piques your interest, we have just one piece of advice: go.
