Escape the daily slog back home on one of the most unique and diverse islands in the ocean. The kaleidoscope of wildlife, landscape and activity on Madagascar is almost unparalleled for its size. Adventure like Robinson Crusoe on the island of Tsarabanjina, with a luxurious twist. This tropical lodge set on it’s own deserted island is made up of 25 charming thatched bungalows from which you can explore this pristine coastline or explore the reefs on a dive.

Location

The tiny island of Tsarabanjina is situated off the Northwest coast of Madagascar, in the heart of the Mitsio Archipelago. Black Tomato will whisk you over from the mainland in a helicopter to really give you a sense of the remote paradise you’re heading to. En route you’ll see beautiful marine life swimming in the Mozambique canal below you. Those who aren’t ready to take to the skies can opt for a glorious boat ride across the lagoon-like ocean sprawling before you. On arrival, sip on a sundowner in The Bar as you feel the sand between your toes.

Your room

With a generous 25 beach villas to choose from, luxury doesn’t go amiss when it’s time to rest your head. Simple tones and ecological thatched roofs contribute to the most comfortable atmosphere to unwind in after a day exploring miles of coastline and azure seas. Choosing between the North Beach and South Beach Villas is the toughest decision you’ll make here, but feel rest assured all cottages are equally stunning and secluded. Your private villa boasts incredible views for a spectacular sunset and an even more beautiful night star-gazing.

Why we like it

Exclusive, exclusive, exclusive. That’s how your stay at Constance Tsarabanjina will feel, and it couldn’t be more spot on. Hop on a Malagasy boat, the typical Madagascan boat, for a fishing trip like no other. Have a go at the practice of long line fishing, and spot fish eagles on a nearby island. As if this wasn’t enough to fuel your adventure spirit, spend the afternoon releasing baby Hawksbill and Green Turtle hatchlings into the sea, fulfilling that sense of wonder and good deed. Robinson Crusoe, eat your heart out.
