Nizuc Resort & Spa, Riviera Maya
On the shores of the glistening Caribbean Sea under the hot Mexican sun sits Nizuc, a luxurious spa hotel known for its unparalleled culinary genius and modern Mayan decor. Stay in one of its 274 stylish suites or villas and spend your days on the private beach paddle boarding, snorkelling, dolphin spotting or just snoozing. Nizuc is the place to go for a relaxing luxury holiday that will make you forget all about the stress of everyday life.
Location
You’ll hardly believe that Nizuc lies just a 10-minute drive from Cancún airport for it truly feels like a whole other world, ensconced there on the beautiful Riviera Maya. This region of Mexico has something for everyone, from the beautiful beaches of Cancún and Playa del Carmen to the ancient wonder of Chichén Itzá so you can be sure you’ll never be short on places to explore.
Your room
The 274 luxury suites and private villas are dotted along the oceanfront and among luscious gardens with ocean facing suites exclusively adults only, making them ideal for that romantic escape to the sun, whilst Residence Suites are spacious and perfect for families. All are decorated in the sleek modern Mayan style of the hotel and come with the options of private plunge pools or spacious terraces. If you’re looking for a bit more privacy on your Latin American holiday, we loved the luxurious villas with private infinity pools. The best bit about all these rooms though has to be their Instagram-worthy views over the Caribbean Sea and Mexican mangroves.
Why we like it
Six world-class restaurants serving cuisine from all corners of the globe make Nizuc the region’s best culinary destination, fit for any self-proclaimed foodie. Ramona is the one to go to if one evening you fancy a more up-market take on Mexican cuisine. When you’ve had your fill of fish tacos, dine on Japanese sushi in Indochine or Peruvian ceviche in Ni before finishing the day in the Cuban cigar lounge, Havana Club, where you will discover Caribbean rums that you never knew existed. There’s even a bar in the pool- just float on over for a margarita, or two, or three…
