Luisa Oliveira

I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada – one of the most multicultural cities in the world, which initially sparked my love for travel. The different foods, the different cultures, the different ways of life… I have always had a longing to see the world and everything it had to offer. This might also stem from the fact that I have been travelling to Portugal yearly, for as long as I can remember. I am a first generation Canadian – both my parents are from the Azores’ island Sao Miguel – so travelling to visit family and explore Sao Miguel was an inevitability. Even as a teenager, I began bringing friends with me and soon realized I loved the feeling of organizing experiences and creating memories for others. My favourite things about Sao Miguel?  Easy – the hot springs and the food. Especially fresh tuna steaks and Cozido (a stew which you cook in the caldeira in the volcanic valley of the Furnas). My love for Europe and its diverse cultures stemmed from these annual visits to Portugal and all it took was one trip to London to realize this is where I needed to be – 5 years later, multiple visits through Europe and I just can’t stop…
