Once the home of the Portland Press Herald, it’s no surprise that the Press Hotel oozes with a distinct New England charm. Right in the heart of the Portland’s historic centre, it’s ideal for getting around and exploring this charming coastal city.
This city centre location gives you the privilege of sampling a wide variety of restaurants, galleries and shops in just a few short minutes. Although everywhere in Portland is easy to get to, being in the city’s Old Port means that the historic sights and quaint fishing piers are right on your doorstep.
In keeping with its name, the rooms resemble a sophisticated journalistic office, with chic desks and newsroom quotes scattered on seats, walls and floors. And right at the very top of the building is the incredible Penthouse Suite, with a rooftop patio that overlooks the city’s spectacular coastline.
Why We Like It
Along with the fantastic location, we also love the fact that the Press Hotel is dedicated to showcasing local talent. The works of Portland artists adorn the corridors, communal areas and rooms whilst the Union restaurant only uses produce from nearby farms – a great way to experience local culture.
