As a child growing up in East Africa, my parents and I were always on the lookout for unconsidered things. Like the cafes and streets of Nairobi, or the furthest-flung corners of the Maasai Mara. The kind of places people don’t ordinarily ‘see’.

I like to bring this same curiosity to my work as a Travel Expert at Black Tomato, where I get to design and fine-tune adventures to corners of the globe I know like the back of my hand. Contrasts and diversity excite me. When we moved back to Europe and the UK, I discovered those things with the contrade of Sienna and the rugged peaks of Teix and Massanella, two of Mallorca’s highest and most beautiful mountains. They couldn’t be more different. And this is precisely what fascinates me about them, how everywhere has its own stories, its own legends, and its own tales to tell. When I plan trips for our travelers, we often talk about stories – about looking beyond the cover. It’s the unexpected that matters most.
