Global Travel Advisor

Navigating the Danish public transport system, at a very early age, doesn’t sound like the most magnetic of ‘travel stories’, but it has stayed with me. How new and different and exciting everything seemed. But also, how familiar.

Being a Global Travel Advisor is about having the whole world on recall – and knowing how to deftly navigate the stops. Born and raised in San Diego, with the ocean as my backyard, it was always very easy for me to imagine a ‘world beyond’. Now, I like to share that same roving curiosity with the travelers who get in touch – drawing on the moments that have meant so much to me (like cycling through Sri Lanka, or road-tripping across the wilds of Canada) – to steer them toward their own adventures. It all starts with a conversation. And a map.

'The most biodiverse place on earth'

A closer look at Ecuador

Right after graduating, I spent a year farming with a host family in the rural Ecuadorian Andes – becoming completely immersed in the culture. Since that time, I have trekked the depths of Patagonia at Torres del Paine, stared back at myself in the reflective salt flats of Bolivia, ziplined hundreds of feet above the jungle floor in Costa Rica, danced ‘til morning light in Colombia.

But Ecuador will always take the crown. It’s underrated sometimes, I think, but it’s the place that made me fall totally in love with travel. The most biodiverse place on earth, it offers an incredible amount of beauty and adventure. Not to mention, the Galapagos will leave you speechless. I’d return in a heartbeat.
