Saffire Freycinet, Tasmania

Where better to stay than in the midst of this natural beauty of Freycinet Peninsula, with the backdrop of the pink tinted Hazard Mountains and Wineglass Bay within your reach. At the Saffire Freycinet, the modern but minimalist rooms with floor to ceiling windows will take your breath away. With 20 rooms to choose from, each is perfectly sculpted for your relaxation.

Location

Overlooking the spectacular Great Oyster Bay on Tasmania’s East Coast and eye to eye with mountain peaks, the Saffire is in the heart of the wilderness, two and a half hours away from Hobart. With views of the Hazards, every day at the Saffire opens itself to the array of colours of the granite peaks. The Saffire takes care of guests from the moment their feet step on Tassie soil with its own chauffeured limousine service from Hobart or Launceston. If you’re particularly drained, their Airport Lounge at Hobart will let you have a shower before arriving in style to the hotel.

Your Room

You’ll never want to leave your haven here at Saffire. Each suite is cut off from the rest of the world but the sweeping views and design will have you connected with this secluded area of Australian coastal landscape. With stone and timber flawlessly melting outside and inside together, Chhada Siembieda’s interior design has made Saffire the ultimate fresh, natural getaway. Freycinet’s admired views inspires the hues of the hotel, such as soft grey, blues, greens and oranges from the driftwood around the mesmerising beaches. Need a drink after hearing about this gem? The mini bars are stocked with Tasmanian drinks included in the price, as are room amenities like wifi and flat screen TVs.

Why we like it

What truly stands out about the Saffire is the closeness felt to the moving Australian surroundings. Complimentary activities showcase the Aussie friendliness and attentive nature to their land. Wade amongst the Oysters you can then eat or canoe in Pelican Bay (yes, there are pelicans). With a hotel so beautifully crafted (and because we’d feel a bit lost without a cocktail in hand), we had to stay in and experience their Mixology Masterclass: muddling and shaking like the pros.
