From under a canopy of African ebony trees, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp faces out over expansive lagoons and channels of the beautiful Delta. With expansive Okavango views, nine exclusive tented suites are strung out on either side of the handsome thatched guest areas of the camp. Burnished teak floors and a lofty roof frame the sitting and dining areas. Private bush dinners, breakfasts in bed, lamplit sundowners on a river island perfectly entertain you went not looking for the Big Five.

Location

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is set in a private concession of 8,000 hectares (19,800 acres) to the southeast of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the centre of one of the most unique regions in the world, the Okavango Delta. Meaning “Place of the Giraffe,” Nxabega is ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango. The wide-open channels of the Delta spread in front of the camp, perfecting viewing from your individual tents.

Your Room

Raised on wooden platforms, the spacious tented suites let in the sights and sounds of the African bush. Escape the heat of the day with a dip in the pool or take in the sun on the broad viewing deck looking out over reeds and floodplains. Cowhide rugs on the floors and warm tones welcome you in, while large ensuite showers with burnished teak floorboards refresh and renew and private wooden decks invite you to daydream over the water’s edge.

Why we like it

Beyond the glistening pool, we love the contrast of the nooks and crannies and the open areas nestled under shady jackalberry canopies, perfect for whiling away the afternoon hours (when not greeting the visiting elephants). Recline into the reed chairs as you watch the incredibly open Delta views roll before you.
