Relax in Rio de Janeiro
As soon as you get off the plane, you’ll be met by your guide who will take you to the beautiful Fasano Hotel. Then, for those visiting during the electrifying Rio Carnival, the undisputed highlight on the world’s party calendar, we can arrange an exclusive experience for guests to dance in the Rio Carnival. Kitted out from head to toe in full costume you’ll prep for the main event with one of Rio’s Samba schools. Learn to Samba with the experts before you take to one of the world’s biggest stages singing the songs and dancing the rhythms of Carnival like a true Brazilian at the iconic Sambodrome. If not, spend the next few days hitting the beach, wandering around some of Rio’s fascinating neighbourhoods and visiting its famous landmarks such as Sugarloaf Mountain, the Botanical Gardens and, of course, Christ the Redeemer. To get deeper under the skin of Brazilian culture, we’ll organise a culinary tour where you’ll buy groceries from the local street markets with a top chef who’ll then help you turn them into a three-course Brazilian meal. Before you leave, learn about the different rhythms of the country with a Samba lesson, shaking your hips like they do at the carnival and testing out your new found skills at a Samba club.
The Buzz of Buzios
After you’ve had your fill of Rio, you’ll leave for Buzios and a chic stay at Insolito Boutique Hotel. Located on the edge of Ferradura Beach, enjoy superb views across the sea from the pool or head out onto the water on one of the hotel’s two boats. Hop between the beaches of Buzios with a fishing rod and a picnic basket or, for a more exhilarating activity, try your hand at water-skiing, wakeboarding and “boia-cross”. For a bit of relaxation after all your activities, take advantage of the Wellness Centre and their massages and Indian rejuvenation rituals. Combined with the stunning nature roundabout, you’re sure to feel refreshed after your stay here.
Tropical rainforest and long white beaches
We’ve saved the best bit until last. Secluded, away from the bustle of city living, head down to Florianopolis and the stunning Ponta dos Ganchos. Explore the nearby local fishing villages that remain untouched by tourism for a truly Brazilian experience, delve into the tropical rainforest and leave footprints in the soft sand. Or, explore deeper with a cooking course and visit the cachaca distillery to try the unusual Brazilian spirit. With such beautiful glistening waters, you’d be foolish not to dip into them for at least a while. Take a trip in a fisherman’s boat around the beaches of the bay, tasting wine and oysters as you go or jump into the water and swim with the tropical fish with a scuba diving instructor. Not to be missed is the whale watching trip. Seeing the whales flip their tails is a sight of a lifetime and one you’ll remember long after your trip has ended.
