Casa Higueras

A boutique hotel located in the stunning surrounds of a 1920s mansion, Casa Higueras is situated on a hillside in Valparaiso, halfway down the lengthy Chilean coast. Translating to “Paradise Valley”, the city is a UNESCO heritage site and one of our favourites for a true taste of South American culture. Location

The mountainous surroundings of Valparaiso are what give this town it’s unique characteristic, and the Casa Higueras uses this to its advantage, boasting panoramic views of the city and the bay. A 15-minute walk into the town centre and you will be submerged in the culture of Santiago, a city rich with arts and history, as well as a buzzing night-life. The hotel is a 90-minute journey from Santiago, and after a couple of days of exploring the magnificent city, you are perfectly located to try a day trip to the Casablanca Wine Valley, only 45km away.

In the 20 rooms, Casa Higueras has to offer, the styles range from traditional to premium or suites. You will be left needing nothing else: keyless doors, a TV and DVD player, free wifi, minibar are standard in every room, providing you with all the mod-cons you might have missed from home. The rooms have a minimalist and authentic feel, using traditional Chilean design.

Why we like it

The hotel’s facilities are exceptional. Relax in the day at the infinity pool, or at the spa (which uses natural ingredients for its massages), take in the views on the panoramic terrace at sunset, and finish the day off eating at the in-house gourmet restaurant, the Montealegre.
