Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo

After all that hard-fought adventuring, we all need some time to unwind. That’s where Four Seasons Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo comes in. A glamorous resort sitting up on the hillside with views out across the Pacific Ocean, nowhere could be more relaxing. Exactly how you relax however is entirely up to you. Accompanying the 182 luxurious guest rooms, suites and residences is a devotion to wellness, a perfect arc of beach called Playa Blanca whose name should tell you all you need to know, a restaurant for every craving and a pool for every type of guest. Topped off with a world-class golf course, it’s the perfect place to end any adventure through Costa Rica.

Location

Tucked away on the Papagayo Peninsula, the Four Seasons enjoys some of Costa Rica’s best beaches. Stepping off Playa Blanca, the waters prove irresistible with kayaking, snorkelling and SUP on hand. For those looking to discover deeper waters, the waters of Guanacaste have built a reputation as the Jurassic Park of fishing waters and make for an unforgettable day at sea. Whilst we love Four Seasons Papagayo to round off a trip through Costa Rica, at only 40-minutes from Liberia Airport, it’s tempting on its own too.

Your Room

Four Seasons Papagayo’s 182 rooms ensure there’s something for everyone. Choose from the nature-framed intimacy of the rooms, the infinity pools of the suites or the privacy of the residences and enjoy views out towards the ocean or forest. The decor of each takes its cue from the natural world with an atmosphere that both invites the jungle in and embraces coastal living. Expect neutral tones, lifted by accents of coral, lit by floor-to-ceiling windows and finished off with all the luxurious touches you’d expect. For families and groups of friends, the residences come hard to beat with up to five bedrooms and some of the best views in the resort.

Why we like it

Whilst Four Seasons Papagayo arguably leaves you spoilt for choice in everything they do, it’s in the dining where we’ve enjoyed felt our most indulged. There are four restaurants on offer here, plus a bar, La Reserva, where we’d gladly start every evening. Step behind the bar and create your own infused rum blend before moving onto the classic Italian cuisine of Pesce or the wood-grilled seafood of Bahia. But for something truly special, book a spot at the Garden Table. Set up in the midst of the chef’s herb garden, you’ll enjoy a five-course set menu paired with organic and biodynamic wines in a true taste of Pura Vida.
