Anemi Hotel, Folegandros
On the eastern end of Folegandros, an untouched island of the Cyclades, the secluded, boutique Anemi Hotel awaits you. Blending into the landscape, the 44 traditionally Greek, white-washed rooms and suites make for the perfect place to rest your head. With infinity pools, fragrant gardens and tennis courts on site there’s no need to leave, but there is much more to explore on this serene island.
Location
The gorgeous harbour village of Karavostasi, in which the hotel is situated, can be reached by boat from Piraeus or Santorini. Alternatively, arrive by helicopter on the wings of the Greek god Zephyr and begin your holiday in style. This scenic village boasts a few traditional taverns, amazing sea views and the closest beach is just 400m from your hotel. There are plenty more beaches to choose from on this little island; the most secluded of which can only be reached by high-speed boat.
Leave no stone unturned on this rocky island by visiting the main settlement of Hora and see the island’s biggest church, the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. Amble through the medieval settlement of Kastro in the north and admire the natural formation of Chrysosila to the east, graffitied with names of people who have visited since the 4th century BC.
Your room
Each of the hotel’s 44 rooms and suites offers sumptuous, traditional Greek style. From sophisticated doubles to sprawling junior and family pool suites, chill out with a cocktail on the deck or indulge in the fresh, local ingredients of the hotel restaurant.
Why we like it
This top-notch hotel can indulge your every whim, but if that’s not seductive enough, the Anemi Hotel also provides an Athens tour where you can see the famed sites with a private car and a personal, English-speaking guide before you get there.
