Eagles Palace is located in the picturesque village of Ouranoupolis, Halkidiki in Northern Greece. The hotel is a 90-minute drive from the International Macedonia Airport in Thessaloniki, which also has excellent rail links to the rest of Europe. There is just so much to do here that we can guarantee you (or, more importantly, the kids) will never be bored. Even if you never leave the hotel, the wide-range of activities such as yoga, cooking classes and watersports, on offer at Eagles Palace, will keep you busy. But there’s always a simple laze on the beach too….

The luxury suites and those with pools have to be our favourites though. Utterly private, with direct access to the beach in front and the enchanting Mount Athos behind, it’s a slice of Grecian paradise.

Why We Like It

A definite crowd pleaser, this hotel really has everything. Beyond the exceptional facilities, the peninsula itself is a fascinating cultural experience. Mount Athos is home to the oldest surviving monastic community in the world governed by its own administration, a Holy Community comprising of a council of monks representing 20 monasteries. According to legend, Virgin Mary was astonished by the wild natural beauty of the land on her way to visit Lazarus with John the Evangelist and asked God to give her the mountain as a present. White sand beaches, emerald waters, endless activities and bags of local history. What more could you want?
