Ranging from sea view and sea front rooms, luxury suites, suites with pools and bungalows – all 164 of the rooms here offer mesmerising views of the stunning surroundings. The luxury suites and those with pools have to be our favourites though. Utterly private, with direct access to the beach in front and the enchanting Mount Athos behind, it’s a slice of Grecian paradise.
Why We Like It
A definite crowd pleaser, this hotel really has everything. Beyond the exceptional facilities, the peninsula itself is a fascinating cultural experience. Mount Athos is home to the oldest surviving monastic community in the world governed by its own administration, a Holy Community comprising of a council of monks representing 20 monasteries. According to legend, Virgin Mary was astonished by the wild natural beauty of the land on her way to visit Lazarus with John the Evangelist and asked God to give her the mountain as a present. White sand beaches, emerald waters, endless activities and bags of local history. What more could you want?
