Reykjavik Edition
The Reykjavik EDITION is the first 5-star modern luxury hotel in Iceland’s capital and boasts a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant, bars, and social spaces right in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. With its speakeasy Tölt cocktail bar, 7th floor Roof bar and terrace, Lobby bar, TIDES Café and TIDES restaurant, as well as a pioneering social spa concept, Reykjavik EDITION is the perfect place to relax and explore.
LOCATION
Set against a breathtaking backdrop of the Old Harbour and the snow-capped mountains beyond, Reykjavik EDITION is right at the heart of things. Located just a few steps away from the Harpa Concert Hall and Laugavegur, the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore the city. But that’s not all. Situated within driving distance of the renowned Blue Lagoon and a short 40-minute drive from Keflavík International Airport, the hotel makes for an ideal jumping-off point for exploring the wonders of the region.
YOUR ROOM
Fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the Old Harbour and along Reykjavik’s ocean strip, Reykjavik EDITION’s rooms, suites, and Penthouse are flooded with natural light and radiate Nordic charm. With an elegant palette of ash wood and pale grey oak, copper bed light sconces, oversized soaking tubs, faux fur rugs, and artwork and accessories made by local craftsmen, each room blends stylishly modern décor with local Icelandic touches.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Breathing in the views from Reykjavik EDITION’s 7th floor Roof, you can’t help but feel on top of the world. Here, floor-to-ceiling glass doors reveal a spacious wrap-around terrace where you can enjoy endless summer evenings beneath the Midnight Sun or watch as the Northern Lights dance across the sky during the winter solstice. As you take a seat, sip on cocktails, and tuck into the bar’s “comfort food”, you’ll find yourself relaxing between ocean, mountains, and sky.
SUSTAINABILITY
At Reykjavik EDITION, room keys and amenities such as toothbrushes and hairbrushes are made from rapidly renewable bamboo and locally handcrafted carafes and clay cups are used to serve water for turndown service. On a broader level, EDITION Hotels also unveiled their “Stay Plastic Free” (SPF) initiative in 2018 to help omit single use plastic from the hotel industry.
