Nusfjord Fisherman’s Cabin, The Lofoten Islands
Nestled away in a remote corner of the Lofoten Islands, lies the sleepy but inviting fishing village of Nusfjord. Dotted with rust red and sunshine yellow cabins, this unique location where mountains rise up out of the sea, will give you a real sense of the adventure of the Norwegian wilderness. Cosy up in your luxurious lodgings overlooking the deep-blue fjords and feel like a true Norwegian fisherman.
Location
Just 30 minutes from Leknes Regional Airport, the quaint fishing village of Nusfjord is one of the oldest and best-preserved in Norway. Spend some time getting under its skin to really appreciate its long-standing traditions and cultural heritage. Or, if you fancy getting out of town – pop north across the archipelago to the village of Ramberg, famous for its expansive white sand beach and Gjestegård Restaurant which boasts an intriguing Arctic Menu.
Your room
Accommodating up to eight people, this roomy fisherman’s cabin is perfect for families or friends wanting a space to relax and spend time together. We love the simplistic cosiness of the bunk room, where kids and adults alike can bunk in together and pretend they are youngsters again. Rustic wooden surroundings give you a sense of just what it felt like to come home from a day of fishing on the rough seas to your snug cabin.
Why we like it
Places like this don’t come around that often with a stay in an authentic fisherman’s cabin in a unique fishing village, a rare treat. Luxury and untouched tradition combined are a fascinating mix, and you’ll come away feeling all the better for it.
