Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, Hawaii
Slip into a steady state of relaxation at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Set amid sprawling tropical gardens overlooking the Pacific Ocean, listen in to the call of the resident macaws and feel island life take hold. Hawaiian culture resonates throughout the property, from the classically designed rooms to the authentic cuisine and regular luau heralded by the sounding of the conch shell. The spa, too, embraces local spirit with traditional healing remedies infused with island botanicals to draw on the healing power of nature. So, whether enjoying a treatment in one of the open air treatment rooms or reclining by one of the four pools, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is sure to put you at ease.
Location
On the southern shores of Kauai, the Grand Hyatt sits atop the silken sands of Poipu. Adventures across the Garden Isle abound in every direction, whether sailing up the coast in the company of humpback whales or teeing off at neighbouring Poipu Bay Golf Club. To access it all, it’s just a 30minute drive from Lihue Airport.
Your Room
Each of the 604 rooms and suites is authentically Hawaiian in its design with oceanic and coral tones looking out onto views of the ocean, mountain and gardens. Views are best enjoyed from the private balcony or lanai of each room whilst handcrafted wooden accents and modern luxuries bring a residential feel to the interiors.
Why we like it
Home to five restaurants, each with its own distinct personality, dining at the Grand Hyatt Kauai is a Hawaiian story in itself. It begins at the Seaview Terrace over morning coffee and pastries before continuing over a lazy poolside lunch at Hale Nalu where fish tacos and shave ice are our order of the day. In the evening, sample sushi with an oceanview at Stevenson’s Lodge, or embrace the resort’s tranquil garden setting over dinner at Tidepools. Here, tables are set beneath thatched-roof bungalows that float atop a waterfall-fed lagoon filled with koi with a menu that embraces contemporary island flavours. As the sun sets and the candles burn, the atmosphere takes on an almost mystical quality.
