After the Christmas celebrations have died down and you’re back to reality, February half-term holidays are the perfect time to get away as a family – the week is wonderfully positioned for making the most of the ski season or grabbing some much needed winter sun. Hot or cold, city or countryside, adventure or relaxation; we’ve got the place covered, you just need to pick the date.

In 2025, most schools will break up for February half-term on Friday 14th February. The holiday then runs from 17-21st February, with pupils returning to school on Monday 24th February. This means you’ll have nine days to spend together – where possible we like to try and book our flights on the Friday evening, to make the most of the half-term break. Remember, some schools have different term dates so always check before booking.
We like to think of February half-term as a bit of a reset. It is just over a month into the new year and things can start to feel a little lacklustre and routine (for both kids and grown-ups). So, we love to use the week as a chance to check back in and reconnect as a family – whether that’s carving down the slopes or lounging in some winter sun.
We don’t do cookie-cutter holidays, we prefer everything to be completely customisable. Our Travel Experts know your family holiday should be as unique as you are. And that’s because we’re families ourselves. So, think of our itineraries as a starting point, the first line on the page of your next great adventure.

Not in any rush to see the Big Five? That’s okay. On this half-term adventure to Malaysia, Borneo and Indonesia we’re taking you and the little ones inside the Jungle Book instead. From colour and culture in the urban jungle of Kuala Lumpur to twilight elephant treks and special spa treatments in blissful Bali, the highlight of this action-packed family holiday is this: boarding a private boat to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to get up close to some of the region’s last remaining wild orangutans. Meeting these gentle, orange animals is high up on many travellers’ bucket lists, but to experience it with your nearest and dearest is something that will stay with you for years to come.
Nestled in the middle of the awe-inspiring Andes and bordered by the warm Caribbean Sea, Colombia is the perfect family-friendly destination. Whether it’s horseriding through the fragrant coffee fields in Cafetero, snorkelling in the Rosario Islands, or chocolate making in Cartagena, this is a boisterous and crowd-pleasing family holiday for February half-term. A visit to Bogota, Colombia’s capital, wouldn’t be complete without a stay at The Four Seasons Casa Medina; dripping in colonial charm, inviting open fires, and hand-carved doors, it’ll be hard to walk away. As night falls, a professional guide will take you on a ghost tour through La Candelaria, spilling you spooky stories about Bogota’s most famous cathedrals and monuments. Fret not, it’s suitable for all the children.
The idyllic beaches of the Caribbean are ideal for a February half-term holiday with young children, as the days can be as relaxed or as action-packed as you desire. And what better island to wind up on than the white powder beaches of Antigua? Besides the private plunge pools, countless Kids Club activities and multi-bedroomed villas dotted around its luxurious family-friendly resorts, there are mountains of exciting activities for you and the kids to embark on. Snorkel above colourful coral reefs, feast on picnics full of your favourite snacks on the uninhabited Green Island, and map out Antigua’s night skies from Jumby Bay. In the evenings, settle down with all the family for private-beach dinners and BBQs under the stars, with gourmet food whipped up by your own catering staff. What more could you want?
Go where the wild things are with this adventurous family holiday – deep into the heart of Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s most iconic nature reserve. Surrounded by wildlife in every direction, go in search of the elusive leopard, study breathtaking species of flora and fauna, and attend workshops to learn about the behaviour of native wild elephants – all with the help of naturalist guides. In the evenings, return to the jungle-fringed beaches of Yala with nights at the charming family-friendly Wild Coast Tented Lodge. Here you can enjoy beach croquet and family picnics before hunkering down in your contemporary ‘cocoon’ with an adjoining mini ‘urchin’, so you can keep the kids entertained but have space when needed. Copper bathtubs, private plunge pools and wild flora on your doorstep; this is half-term holiday glamping at its finest.
