Kangaroo Island is an unspoiled paradise: surrounded by limestone cliffs, sheltered coves and pure white sand beaches where you’ll find an abundance of wildlife: literally come face-to-face with a sea lion, a koala or a kangaroo (it is Kangaroo Island after all) as you explore. Set back from the cliff at Hanson Bay on the southwest coast, this is the perfect base to explore the rest of your island home.

To make sure you don’t miss any of the view, there are stunning floor to ceiling windows in the Flinders Suite. The clean, sleek lines, white and wooden furnishings and glass bathroom walls give your suite an airy, relaxing feel that is perfect for your island escape. Take in the breathtaking views of the Southern Ocean beyond the coastline from your curved sunken lounge. Enjoy the luxurious rain shower in the bathroom then lay back on the inviting daybed on your outdoor terrace. Not a bad way to spend a day.

Why we like it

As well as the spectacular views and airy, luxurious rooms, we love the restaurant and spa. In the restaurant, the Lodge Executive Chef cooks unbelievably fresh, sophisticated dishes carefully mixing culinary styles and tastes from all over the world. The spa use the amazing Australian-made Li’Tiya treatments, which go perfectly with the incredible ocean views. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself drifting off during your massage. And the icing on the cake is the walk-in wine cellar. What more could you ask for?
