Hotel Grano De Oro, San Jose
Whilst a converted mansion in a tropical capital may seem incongruous, stepping into Hotel Grano de Oro proves there’s in fact a perfect harmony to the combination. Here, you’ll find a peaceful sanctuary comprising of 40 rooms hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city. Decorated with period art, tropical flowers and flowing fountains, the Grano de Oro bursts with character and is the perfect launchpad into your Costa Rican adventure.
Location
Just steps away from San Jose’s main street, Paseo Colon, you are in the perfect location to hit the culturally vibrant town, yet with the luxury of coming back to an oasis of tranquillity. With Grano de Oro as your base, you’re in just the right spot to nip off out of the city for some adrenaline-pumping activities like white water rafting, volcano trekking, or exploring the nearby rainforests.
Your room
The rooms are stylishly decorated with hardwood furniture and old-fashioned pieces which give them each their own distinct personality. The patio rooms have gloriously airy French doors opening onto private patios, while the suites are the hotel’s crown jewels with a private staircase, phenomenal views and your own private whirlpool.
Why we like it
We loved exploring all the nooks and crannies of the Grano de Oro, a hotel that’s bursting at the seams with character. Sitting at patio restaurant in the courtyard is an idyllic way to spend a few hours admiring your surroundings while sipping speciality cocktails and sampling the delicious Costa Rican-European fusion cuisine.
