For an exclusive experience, you can visit the Þríhnúkagigur Volcano and see exactly what goes on beneath the earth’s surface. Scientists have recently opened up a lift that will take a lucky few 120 meters beneath the surface of the earth into the giant magma chamber of the dormant volcano, where you’ll be treated to amazing views and insight into the natural world.

Views fit for the gods

Today, after a hearty breakfast you’ll be met by your guide and SuperJeep as you take on the most popular hiking destinations in Iceland. Named after the Norse god Thor, Þórsmörk stands as one of the most popular destinations amongst hikers, and for good reason too. From hiking on mountains and glaciers to Jeep tours and mountain biking, you’ll enjoy an exhilarating day out with Þórsmörk offering a range of different family tours that will leave you spoilt for choice. With a lesson in ice walking, you’ll be ready to head onto the Sólheimajökull glacier (a part of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier) on the south coast of Iceland and experience one of the world’s most unique environments, filled with caves and crevasses perfect for budding explorers.

After a day exploring Langjokull glacier by snowmobile, you’ll then head out in your SuperJeep on a tour of the Golden Circle. Your first stop will be the Thingvellir National Park, followed by the active Geysir Hot Spring Area that will reveal exploding geysers. The last stop on this Iceland family tour will be the incredible Gullfoss “Golden Waterfall”, which will leave you feeling mesmerised and truly inspired by Mother Nature.

Test the Waters

The next day then unveils one of the most phenomenal experiences you can do in Iceland with kids. You’ll find yourself floating in the crystal-clear blue water of the Silfra Fissure as you snorkel between the two continents of Europe and America. After a mesmerising snorkelling experience, you’ll head to lunch at the Fridheimar Greenhouse to experience one of the more unique restaurants in Iceland, where tomatoes are the main cuisine.

Then, what better way is there to end your Iceland family holiday than by taking a dip in the Blue Lagoon? For an exclusive experience, we’ll arrange for you to enjoy VIP access where you and your family will have some time to enjoy the lagoon in total privacy. This stunning geothermal spa is where you can bathe in the warm waters whilst surrounded by the presence of unbridled natural beauty. This unique spa features a huge outdoor lagoon that’s filled with geothermal hot water and whose active ingredients have become internationally known for providing an unforgettably tranquil bathing experience. Set amidst a dramatic field of black basalt lava, the temperatures in this stunning lagoon average a balmy 35-40°C and provide the most relaxing afternoon that you’re likely to ever experience. Once refreshed, head to the Lava restaurant for one last meal before we whisk you to the airport for your flight home.
