13 nights ideal length

Going on safari is one of life’s most thrilling experiences – but all that excitement can leave you feeling pretty exhausted. With that in mind, we’ve crafted an itinerary that promises you a whirlwind of a safari followed by some total relaxation, in the form of a 13-night Kenya and the Seychelles combo. Starting with a night at the famous Giraffe Manor where you can share a breakfast or afternoon tea with our wild friends, you will embark on a week-long safari spotting rhinos, tree climbing lions and more. After a few days hot air ballooning over the plains of the Maasai Mara and dining out in the bush, you will finish with a well-deserved five-night stay at Six Senses Zil Pasyon in the Seychelles. Here you can completely unwind by the shimmering Indian Ocean with nothing to pull you away from pristine sands other than the odd yoga session, paddle boarding or film night. Let us help you find the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.

Wake up with Rhinos and Brunch with Giraffes

Start the Kenyan leg of your trip by flying to Nairobi and heading to Giraffe Manor. A 1930s manor turned boutique hotel, Giraffe Manor is one of Kenya’s most iconic buildings, not only because it is beautiful but also because of its tall and rather nosy neighbours. Don’t be alarmed if you wake up to find a Rothschild’s giraffe staring in your bedroom, that’s the very reason you’re here. At the manor, you can share a breakfast with the wild giraffes that roam the surrounding forest, have afternoon tea on the terrace with them and do a guided walk through the sanctuary.

Make this itinerary yours

Each and every Black Tomato trip is tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do So tell us about yourself and we’ll create something that’s entirely you.

Start Planning

After an unforgettable first night, you will turn your attention to rhinos as you head to Solio Lodge, whose glass-fronted rooms open up onto sights of herds of them, sometimes 40 strong at a time, trotting past. Here you will spend three days taking guided walks and doing day and night game drives to spot leopards, lions and cheetahs as they laze about in trees. But there is so much more than just safari available at Solio, as you take a helicopter ride up Mount Kenya or go trout fishing in Aberdare National Park.

Ballooning above the Maasai Mara

From Solio, you will be moving on to the Maasai Mara game reserve for three nights in Sala’s Camp where you are in prime location to witness the Great Migration of wildebeests from June to September. Sala’s offers an immersive safari experience as you stay in luxury tented suites and dine out on bushfare under the stars. During your time here you will take part in authentic culinary experiences throughout the day that truly bring the Maasai Mara to life such as bush breakfast cookouts at dawn, bush sundowners at sunset, BBQ dinners on Sand River, and ending with nights around the campfire. To top it all off we will be taking you for a private hot air balloon flight to watch the Great Migration thunder below you as the sun rises. The ultimate romantic experience.

Slip off to the Seychelles

By now you must be all safaried out so we will be popping you on a plane and sending you out to the dazzling Indian Ocean, to relax in the Seychelles for your final five nights. You will be staying at Six Senses Zil Pasyon on the private island of Félicité, where you can opt to do absolutely nothing other than sip freshly-squeezed juices and sunbathe if you wish. Zil Pasyon is one of our favourite hotels with its beach-chic luxury villas with their own private pools and glorious views out over the azure ocean. Whilst your final five days here are for completely unwinding there are still many activities to try your hand at should you be a more active type, from scuba diving and paddle boarding to yoga and jungle hikes. After long days at leisure enjoy an evening of cinema and popcorn under the stars on the hotel deck overlooking the sea, before indulging in tapas and cocktails at Lakanbiz Rum Bar or a gourmet dinner at The Wine Vault.

Feeling fully revived, head home after an unforgettable two weeks of safari coupled with sea and sand.
