Corral del Rey, Seville
Recently converted from a 17th century casa palacio (palace house), Corral Del Rey is an exquisite boutique hotel in the heart of Andalucia’s most romantic city, Seville. It is full of architectural delights from its atrium patio and Roman marble columns to its Tarifa stone floors and the original wooden carved detailing. Corral Del Rey stylishly combines chic modern design with stunning original pieces and fine art in its 17 rooms. The result: a place full of character, creativity and charm with a wonderfully intimate atmosphere.
Location
In a picturesque cobbled lane in the heart of Seville’s historic quarter, Barrio Alfalfo, you’ll be in walking distance from the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world and many of the city’s other treasures such as the beautiful UNESCO listed palace, Real Alcázar de Sevilla and Metropol Parasol. Whilst there definitely try to catch a flamenco show if you can.
Your Room
Each bedroom has its own imaginative flair, thanks to local interior designer, Kuky Mora-Figueroa. She has perfectly blended tradition with innovation in each of the 17 rooms, making them reflective of the vibrant city they are in. Picture original wooden beams, shutters and 18th century hand-painted panels meeting stunning marble bathrooms, Nicole Fabre linens and silk cushions. For some romance and privacy go for the Pool Suite that has a staircase taking you to your private roof terrace and plunge pool overlooking the Cathedral.
Why We Like It
Asides from Corral Del Rey’s beautiful design we also love its restaurant that serves delicious local cuisine and its vibrant bar that mixes experimental cocktails with traditional surroundings. The hotel hosts sherry tasting evenings and can organise massages, yoga classes, bike tours, horse riding and hot air ballooning for you to make the most of Andalucian life. The roof garden and plunge pool, with great views of La Giralda, provide marvellously luxurious respite after a busy day sight-seeing, tapas eating and shopping.
