Watch our new cinematic portrait of Puglia, in Italy’s authentic southeast

From Ostuni and Matera to Borgo Egnazia

Known colloquially as the ‘larder of Italy,’ Puglia is famed for several things: its historic production of olive oil. Its craggy limestone hills. Its Adriatic shoreline – and its incredibly easygoing way of life. This slice of the southeast is largely unknown beyond Italy, eclipsed (perhaps unfairly) by the crowds and gadflies of the Amalfi Coast. Yes, the Amalfi coast is beautiful – dramatic and suave and sexily faded in its grandeur. But Puglia is simpler: more honest and more direct. From charming trulli houses and steaming orecchiette to 1,000-year-old olive trees and the purring engines of Alpha Romeos. The locals insist on good food, good seas, and good culture. There is no pretension – and there is plenty of relaxation; from the hilltop towns of Matera and Ostuni to the palatial splendour of Borgo Egnazia, one of our favourite hotels.

That’s why we sent Alister and Owen on a trip to capture Puglia on film – an ode to rustic Italian culture, hearty living, good health, and a little squeeze of The Talented Mr. Ripley. The film features two of our favourite Puglian hotels, including Borgo Egnazia and Ottolire.

As you know, all of our trips are created bespoke. We can build your Puglia from the ground up; whether that means pairing it with another region or focusing on this beautiful area alone. Cooking classes and luxury car hire; golf or sailing; spa resorts or wine tours. It’s always up to you.

Your taste of Puglia is only a few clicks away.
