Quito Rymer, soulful Reggae music
Like Aragon, Quito hails from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and is yet another serious talent (we’re starting to think there’s something in the water there). With a mission to spread peace, love and happiness, how could we not include him in our BVI line up?
A musician whose reggae music was launched in the Caribbean and has since grown to receive international acclaim as part of the band Quito and the Edge, he is a true veteran in music production and lyricism. Often classed in the same league as Bob Marley (bold claim, we know, so even more reason for you to check out the video) Quito has produced a multitude of hit singles in a range of musical genres including reggae, SKA, Rock and Blues. Easy to see why he’s sometimes referred to as the musical chameleon, right?
Quito can give you everything: a beat to dance to, a chilled melody to relax on the beach with and a rhythm to sway to.
Impressive right from the start, Quito found inspiration through painting and drawing. That’s right, the man can draw and paint, too. A force (of peace and inspiration, that is) to be reckoned with, we’d say. Driven by his love for, and the power of music, he persisted with teaching himself the guitar to give him the musical prowess he has today.
Quito can give you everything: a beat to dance to, a chilled melody to relax on the beach (Caribbean cocktail in hand, obviously) with and a rhythm to sway to. Quito and the Edge have graced the stages of St Lucia Jazz Fest and BVI MusicFest, proving them ever popular with their happy go lucky fans. Inspired by the life, love and community of his homeland, we think Quito is the perfect candidate to offer you a masterclass in Caribbean culture, so grab a guitar and prepare to receive a slice of the BVI…
