Location

Just 27 miles long and 14 miles wide, the glamorous postage-stamp isle of St Lucia is one of the finest in the Caribbean. Elegant plantation-style architecture gives a nod to the resort’s sugar mill past, the ruins of which can still be found hidden beneath the shade of mango and banana trees that dot the expansive grounds.  Choose from luxury sugar mill rooms, villas or bungalows, each gleaming with white-washed walls and hardwood floors. Why we like it

The spectacular beauty of Sugar Beach really has to be seen to be believed but, scenery aside, the crowning feature has to be the Rainforest Spa. A cluster of treehouse treatments rooms that cling to the sides of the Pitons, this maze of bamboo is a magical experience in its own right and well worth the long-haul flight. With Honey and Chocolate Body polishes, the rituals here sound good enough to eat. Get the royal treatment with a signature bamboo or hot lava shell massage before heading to the earthen Amerindian ‘temescal’ steam dome for some serious herbal rejuvenation.
