Peru
Sol y Luna, Sacred Valley
Do you want to experience Peru as it was during the era of the Incas? Sol y Luna in the Sacred Valley is the closest you can get to a time machine with its rustic casitas reminiscent of a time gone by nestled amongst some of the most beautiful archaeological sites. Occupying a secluded spot in Urubamba surrounded by beautiful gardens and South American landscapes you couldn’t ask for a more romantic place to retreat to on your Peruvian getaway.
Location
You’ll fly into Cusco from Lima before a scenic one hour drive from Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport through the Peruvian countryside to get to your rural retreat. Visit the nearby markets of Pisac and Chinchero to find yourself a little something to remember your foray into the Sacred Valley before you explore Ollantaytambo and its impressive Inca ruins.
Your Room
You’ll be able to relax in complete privacy inside one of the 43 casitas which are made from local wood, adobe and stones. Inside the walls are adorned with colourful Peruvian artwork and ornate wooden furnishings. If you choose a premium casita then you’ll be able to soak up the sun in your very own private Jacuzzi.
Why we like it
We love how there is something for everybody at Sol y Luna from invigorating rafting along the Urubamba River to therapeutic taichi and yoga classes in the hotel gardens. Our favourite thing about this authentic country hideaway is the spa where expert masseuses will soothe away all those aches and pains so you head home totally relaxed.
Sustainability
This is a truly inspirational hotel. Sol y Luna was originally created to financially support a school in the Sacred Valley. Nowadays, it supports not only the school, but also a disability centre and an orphanage too. Speak to our Travel Experts to find out how you can support these projects during your visit to Peru.
